Connecting Across Difference - Furtherfield.org in partnership with Drake Music
A season of creative workshops with young musicians from mainstream and special schools in the borough of Tower Hamlets and from The Roundhouse Project in Camden. A new performance work was co-devised with participants, led by a team of composers, artists, musicians and technologists. In March 2009 Connecting Across Difference, culminated in an extraordinary public performance of a new piece called ‘The Spell’ by over 60 young people at the V&A Museum of Childhood.
Zero Dollar Laptop - Furtherfield.org in partnership with Access Space
The Zero Dollar Laptop is a recycled computer, running Free Open Source software that is fast and effective (now and long into the future). We are developing a programme of enjoyable and stimulating workshops with local young people and a London homeless charity in which participant’s get their hands dirty recycling technology, learning about free and open source software and using it for creative purposes; all while learning more about the impact of technologies on the environment. ZDLT is a part of the Furtherfield.org Media Art Ecologies programme.
